BUS

To get to the venue, you take the stop called 'Leuven Station'.

A bus ticket costs 3 euro and is valid for 60 minutes. You can pay on the bus, but only with a note not bigger than 10 euro. There are other options (like a day-pass or a group-pass).

From the city center, you can take all busses going in the direction of the trainstation. In case you are unsure, you can always ask the driver. They are usually very helpful.

Leuven also has night busses on Friday and Saturday untill 2:30 or 3am. These night busses are free (from 22:22pm onwards). They leave either at the trainstation or at the Rector de Somerplein (center).

AIRPORT

From the Charleroi airport (Brussels South Charleroi Airport) you need to take a train to Brussels (South, Central or North doesn't matter but Brussels South is fastest) and then get on another train that stops at the Leuven Station (multiple trains per hour).

From the Zaventem Airport (Brussels Airport) there are many trains going directly to Leuven.

PARKING

There are a few paying parkinglots (mainly underground) in the vicinity of the venue. If you park in one of those, you can use your parkingticket to ride the busses in the city center (and to the venue). Paying is done at the vending machines near the entrances and exits of the parkinglots.

  • Parking De Bond (Martelarenplein 18-19, 3000 Leuven): Open 24/24 . Underneath the trainstation of Leuven so at less than 50m from the venue.
  • Parking Kinepolis (Bondgenotenlaan 145-149, 3000 Leuven): situated at 150m from the venue. Pricing comparable to those of Parking De Bond.
  • Parking Minckeler (J.P. Minckelersstraat 94, 3000 Leuven): Situated at 500m from the venue. Nighttime pricing available.
  • Parking Ladeuze (Mgr. Ladeuzeplein 20, 3000 Leuven): Situated at 700m from the venue.

Street parking within the ringway is paying until 9 pm except on holidays and sundays. Outside of the ringway, you need to pay until 7 pm. The first 15 minutes are always free, but you do need to take a ticket at the automats alongside the road.

Paying can be done through the 4411-app, through texting (registration required) or with eurocoins (10 cent, 20 cent, 50 cent, 1 euro or 2 euro). Street parking costs 2 euro per hour.

BARS

Leuven has a great array of restaurants, taverns, snackbars and pubs. In this section, we will give you some bar suggestions based on what we feel might interest our festival visitors. For restaurants you can stay eat on the square where the venue is situated or go into the center of town. Enough options to be found there.

  • Rockcafé Leuven (Oude Markt 32, 3000 Leuven): rock, punk, rockabilly and metal.
  • Café Belge (Oude Markt 35, 3000 Leuven): Ska, drum 'n bass, goa, rock, etc but especially a big selection of Belgian beers and nice staff.
  • De Giraf (Oude Markt 38, 3000 Leuven): Reggae, dub, ska, indie-rock.
  • Libertad (Muntstraat 28, 3000 Leuven): Better rock music and singer-songwriter.
  • Blauwe Kater (Mechelsestraat 51, 3000 Leuven, Vismarkt): Very small real ale pub with mainly Jazz and Blues and a very big assortment of (Belgian) beers.

For these pubs, you can use busline 2 at the station in the direction of Heverlee and then ask for the stop 'Universiteitshal' (or just 'Oude Markt').

  • Paradox (Diestsesteenweg 109, 3010 Kessel-Lo): (5 min walk from the backside of the trainstation) Sportsbar with alternative music, soccertables and gambling machines.

For this pub you can also take a bus. Buslines 370, 371 and 372 all go in that direction (Diest, Linden). Ask for stop “Blauwput Kerk” (or “Kerkstraat”) and then walk a few meters on the other side of the road.

NIGHTSHOPS

In the vicinity of the venue there is only one nightshop called Sheikh & Sons (Diestsestraat 261, 3000 Leuven). The opening hours are:

  • Sun – Thu: 18:00 – 02:00
  • Fri & Sat: 18:00 – 04:00
  • Closed on Tuesdays

When you go further into the city center, there are some more nightshops but they are further away.

ATM'S

There is an ATM in the underpass of the station. It is opened 24/7. If this one is empty or out of order, you can go to the one at BELFIUS-bank (Bondgenotenlaan 103, 3000 Leuven). This one is opened from 6am till midnight.
